I’m here! I have big plans for May. I consider this a soft launch right now, and I plan a big launch for May and June. I can’t wait to let you in on my plans. Thank you dear ones, for being patient. If you have “time/project management tips” for bloggers who homeschool and have too many hobbies I’d love to chat!
Outside my window:
Green grass, and a field of trees with lots of leaves and beautiful flowers. I’m at the park where Lu practices soccer.
I am listening to:
The chatter of parents arriving and coaches, kids playing catch, and the Brave Writer Podcast Season Two finale.
I am wearing:
Fabuletics running pants, a shirt from a Diva Half-Marathon & my Chaco sandals.
I am so grateful for:
A great day. It’s 6 pm, and today has been full of laughter, playful messes, and quality time with my kids.
I’m pondering TED TALKS:
I’m thinking about the washing machine and how it saves my life daily. It’s quite a gift to have, and I’m thankful for the freedom. That I get to read books and listen to podcasts and lay in the backyard watching birds.
13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do
Gracious Space: Spring by Julie Bogart
And these books with my kids…

And Up First by NPR
I’m praying for:
–Those separated by deployment
–Those learning how to be a family again after deployment
–Whispered prayers in silence.
I’m thinking about this quote:
“At my age, in this still hierarchical time, people often ask me if I’m ‘passing the torch’. I explain that I’m keeping my torch, thank you very much–and I’m using it to LIGHT THE TORCHES of OTHERS. Because only if each of us has a torch will there be enough light.” –Gloria Steinem
Life feels cozy right now, we are learning lots of birds, bunnies, and squirrels. We’re reading great books and getting stuff done in a way that most of the time people aren’t stressed out.
In the garden:
Oh, I’m reading! I am wondering if I have the energy to try a garden or not…
Around the house:
Working on getting rid of stuff. I am pondering doing the Mins Game, where you get rid of excess things each day for 31 days. The first day you get rid of either 31 things or 1 thing. If you get rid of 31 things, the next day you d0 30. If you get rid of 1 thing, the next day you do 2.
In the kitchen:
I’m planning summer lunches, breakfasts, and snacks. I really want simple, easy things that are mostly plant based… I’m hoping to sell it to my kids. So it’s got to taste good, any suggestions?
A blog plan for May, June, and July! I love posting these Daybooks, but I want to post more. I need to create space and boundaries around that time so I can.
I love it when:
I have a really enjoyable run. On Saturday, I ran 12.1 miles and it felt great! I loved the weather and the music that poured into my ears.
I love it when I turn the corner and I spy my children playing together kindly and my heart sores. Total mom win.
With the rest of the week I’m going to:
Planning book club, getting ready for Submarine Ball on Friday, and going to the art museum!
I need lots of zucchini recipes for kids to make, please leave links in the comment box!
Photo of the Week:
I’m captivated by flowers and sunsets during soccer games.
